The left-arm spinner posted a photo of his trip to Ayodhya on social media. “Jai Shree Raam, blessings to everyone” was the caption on the post.

Maharaj will not be an official part of the Lucknow team, but he is expected to practice with them for the 2024 Indian Premier League.

Prior to the Ram Temple’s dedication on January 22, Maharaj posted a video to Instagram with the caption, “Looking forward to the opening of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.” I hope it brings everyone harmony and enlightenment.

The in-stadium DJ would play the song “Ram Siya Ram” from the 2023 film Adipurush every time Maharaj came to bat during the India vs. South Africa ODI series back in June of this year.

The left-arm spinner was also questioned by KL Rahul, who said, “Every time you enter, they play that.” Speaking on the subject, Maharaj said that he had asked for the song to be played when he arrived at the field.

Maharaj was cited by PTI as adding, “It was obviously something I put forward to the media lady and requested that song be played.”

“God has been my greatest blessing, and I feel that it’s the least I can do to take advantage of opportunities that put you in the zone and earn respect from other players.” Although it’s important to respect people’s cultures and religions, Maharaj added that it feels good to hear “Ram Siya Ram” playing in the background.

Keshav Maharaj’s great-grandfather came from the Uttar Pradesh hamlet of Sultanpur, which is where his Indian ancestry originated. He has also been to Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, to see the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple during the 2023 ICC World Cup campaign.

On March 24, LSG will play their first IPL 2024 matchup against the Rajasthan Royals.
