<p>During the historic triumph, Downey Jr. acknowledged his wife, Susan, in his acceptance speech and gave her credit for being instrumental in bringing his career back to life. The Iron Man actor was seen beaming just after the 2024 ceremony ended as he posed with his spouse and joked along with the photographers at the Vanity Fair Oscars carpet.</p>
<p>The Hollywood couple won hearts with their endearing connection and photogenic poses at the special occasion. They were spotted holding hands, laughing, and conversing with one another. Robert looked dapper in a black suit with matching slacks and a formal white shirt to go with it. Susan, on the other hand, looked stunning in a black gown. Robert had a candid talk with the reporters present at the event before posing for pictures, even making them laugh with his antics.</p>
<p>At the Oscars 2024, Ke Huy Quan, who had won Best Supporting Actor the year before, invited Robert Downey Jr. on stage to accept the prize. Robert expressed his gratitude to the academy and his awful childhood in that order as he accepted the honor. I want to thank Susan Downey, my wife, who happens to be my veterinarian. You brought me back to life with love, and she got me a growling rescue pet. I’m here for that reason. I’m grateful. This is my little secret. This work was more for me than it was for me. Emma made sure to surround me with one of the greatest casts and teams ever—Emmy, Cillian—and Chris knew it. It was amazing. And as a result, I’ve become a better guy and stand before you.”</p>
<p>“Our actions have purpose, and the decisions we make have significance. Just in case nobody else does, I would like to thank my stylist. I simply wanted to say, “Thank you, Erika, thank you so much.” “Thank you, bro. For 40 years, my entertainment lawyer, Tom Hanson, spent half of that time trying to get me insured and bailing me out,” he remarked.</p>
<p>It’s interesting to note that Robert Downey Jr. had already received recognition for his performance in the 2009 dark comedy Tropic Thunder, so this wasn’t his first Oscar nomination.</p>
